PRESS: Tinkoff Bank, MOEX, Sber to test Russia’s GitHub analogue
MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry has approved a list of 82 participants of an experiment to create a local repository of an open source code, an analogue of GitHub, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday.
The list contains federal and regional authorities, large companies, like Tinkoff Bank, the Moscow Exchange (MOEX), Sber’s subsidiaries, and others. The ministry order was published on May 31.
A ministry representative said the list also included both developers and users of open source code solutions. The experiment started on March 21 and will end in April–June 2024.
A Moscow Exchange representative said that it “as an IT company actively uses an open source code in development of software and web projects…In the current conditions it is very important to find an option to continue to use an open code, this makes the dynamic development of fintech projects possible,” the representative said.
Marketplace Ozon, which takes part in the experiment, supports the open source projects and sees it as an input in the development of IT.
